When We Are Closed

Emergency medical care is provided by local GPs working for Urgent Care Cambridge. A doctor or a specially trained nurse will assess each call and may offer telephone advice, invite the patient to attend the emergency surgery at UCC's base in Chesterton Hospital or arrange for a home visit.

This service operates outside of our contracted hours.  During these times, should your require to consult with a doctor urgently, please telephone 0330 123 9131. Please note that for medico-legal reasons your calls to CAMDOC will be recorded.

NHS 111

Alternatively you can access urgent assistance by calling NHS 111 on 111. A triage nurse will assess your situation and take appropriate action. This could simply be by offering advice or where necessary by making arrangements for you to be seen by a doctor.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
